About Me

Health and movement have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a family where wellbeing was simply how we lived. My mum was deeply health-conscious and taught us from an early age to make nourishing food choices. My dad was passionate about competitive sport and encouraged us to move, train, and challenge ourselves physically.

My formal yoga journey began more than twenty-five years ago — during my university years while completing a Master of Science in Finance. At the time, I was immersed in the intensity of a high-performance academic and corporate environment. Yoga became a steadying force — a way to regulate stress, build resilience, and reconnect with my body. That experience stayed with me.

After beginning my career in finance, I eventually chose to follow the thread that had been quietly weaving through my life all along. In 2008, I stepped fully into the world of yoga and wellness — and I have been working in this field ever since.

Today, I am a senior yoga teacher, neuro-trainer, and applied anatomy lecturer with over 17 years of full-time experience and more than 10,000 hours of teaching across studios, gyms, retreats, and teacher-training environments.

Anatomy-Informed Yoga

My approach to yoga is grounded in structure. I am known for my anatomy-informed, alignment-focused teaching style — clear cueing, intelligent sequencing, and an emphasis on understanding how the body actually works. I design multi-level classes with thoughtful variations and modifications, ensuring students of different abilities, histories, and injuries can practice safely and effectively. My aim is not to perfect shapes, but to build strength, stability, adaptability, and confidence.

I have lectured nationally and internationally on applied yoga anatomy, injury prevention, breathwork, and meditation for over 15 years. I am the lead curriculum writer for Ihana Yoga’s 200-hour and postgraduate teacher training programs, and I am currently authoring a book on yoga alignment.

Research & Clinical Work

My background in finance cultivated a respect for scientific rigour that continues to shape my work. I have co-authored a published medical research paper on cardiac rehabilitation yoga and designed and facilitated a cardiac rehab yoga program for Monash Health / Monash Heart.

Bridging traditional practice with modern research has always felt natural to me. I value tradition — but I also value evolution, evidence, and inquiry.

Neuro-Training & Root Cause Work

Over time, I became increasingly interested in what lies beneath physical symptoms. As a neuro-trainer, I work with the nervous system to identify and address root causes rather than just managing surface-level issues. By helping clients create new neural pathways, we give the nervous system more adaptive options — allowing the body to recuperate and regulate more effectively.

This work supports physical, emotional, and cognitive resilience. My strength in neuro-training comes from a combination of solid anatomical knowledge, ongoing study, and the ability to make people feel at ease. I believe that safety — both physical and emotional — is foundational to healing.

My Philosophy

Whether I am teaching yoga, lecturing anatomy, working one-on-one, or writing, my intention is the same:

  • To empower people to understand their bodies.

  • To move away from dogma and towards inquiry.

  • To build strength without force.

  • To activate the body’s own healing mechanisms.

My work is grounded in science and structure — but always guided by the individual in front of me. I believe health should be intelligent, adaptable, and accessible. And I am committed to bringing that approach to as many people as possible.
